My Reflection of Another Blog

I enjoyed observing the Gallery of High Heels blog site .This blog site advertises high heels that have never seen or heard of before. The Balenciaga Gladiator Heel Boot is one example. This particular heel comes in all two toned colors: black and white, black and yellow, and black and red. This heel is unique because it looks like an African zebra print two inch heel. In the front of the stilettos is open toed and there are eight leather straps that are connected together at the back of the leg. The Gladiator Heel Boot costs $6,945. Even though the heels are expensive I would like to own a pair for a cheaper price. If you would like to visit the blog site go to http://shoegallery.blogspot.com/.

Another blog site I found interesting was “Arash’s World: Philosophy With An Absurd Twist.” What I liked about the blog site was that it offers a variety of interesting topics to read. One particular article that captured my interest was “Telenovelas and Soap Operas: Junk Food or Food for Thought?” This article explained the difference between American soap operas and South American telenovelas. The main difference is their length. American soap operas can last for years compared to telenovelas. One of the soap operas called “General Hospital” that premiered in 1963 is still continuing to air today. Another factor is soap operas are open narratives and their concept is not set up clearly. Telenovelas are more limited and focused on their concept. The script of a telenovela should have a clear outline. The average running time of the program is six months, with a maximum of one additional term, so they can run up to one year before they are taken off air. Telenovelas also tends to have remakes. There can be up to three versions of the same telenovela in the span of a few decades. One example of a telenovela remake was the“Count of Monte Cristo.”

Latin American views are very different from American views when it comes to TV shows. The Latin American society is more conservative and some people tend to watch telenovelas that deal with social and political issues. Many examples are corruption, discrimination, and tolerance. The American Society tends to view soap operas that are dealing with the glamorous life of Hollywood. One example is ” Desperate Housewives.” Telenovelas have had their success worldwide. Mexico produces more than 3,000 hours of telenovelas totaling $250 million US equaling the cost of the Titanic. I prefer watching telenovelas instead of soap operas because the actors are more serious and the stories are more dramatic. I can feel the actor’s pain more in telenovelas.
